freetxt.ca votes do not work, script or manual. I've tested it with Mccardle. NHL All-Star Voting has web text voting blocked, is my guess.

I HAVE VOTED IN THE BALLET A GOOD 20 TIMES and i am always logged in and it always thanks me for my vote. but each time i have gone to update the leaders nothing seems to to change in the numbers. does it take a while.
and i notice only a few times after my voting has the square that says enter a chance to win sweepstakes popped up. what's with that ??? i haven't missed it .
the other 2 squares are always there the >vote again and grab a widget. i tried taping on this widget thing but i really get no where . what is that.
it shows a page with crosby and 2 round allstar click to vote things . nothing under the crosby photo can be taped onto WHY... it says copy and paste a code . i think i found a code ??? but where and how do i paste it.

Keep voting I suppose, but I'd bet dollars to Timbits that this is all scripted by the NHL (going right down to the wire, hometown Habs coming from behind to win by inches, etc.). Habs winning all the spots at the start was nice for a while, but the NHL had to get Cindy and Eva in, so they fixed that quick, with the Pens Head Office leading the cell text messaging.
Price and Komi certainly deserve to be in ahead of Fleury (3.00 GAA!?

) and Gonchar (not even skating). We'll see if "we" can get those Habs in.
Heck, don't be surprised if one the races ends at a dead-tie at midnight tonight, with the NHL declaring one day of "overtime" -- anything for some publicity.
This is all not all that different than the 'reality' TV shows which are fully scripted.
A 0.0385% difference in the two goaltender leaders with just hours to go?

-- yeah, sure -- that's not scripted and I haven't got a Wall Street Investment Bank to sell everyone for a song.

hey guys, even if Gonchard finishes 2nd and decide not to go at the all-star game, doesnt mean that the next person with the most votes will takes his place. It's the NHL who decides what to do in that case so Komisarek's spot is far from being secured.

Someone should post a fake trade on the pens site to get them distracted. TSN (or ESPN) has just reported the pittsburgh penguins have traded jordan stall and maxim talbot and a first round pick to the atlanta thrashers for ily kovalchuk

That should keep them from voting for awhile

Prices lead is less then 600 votes that can be taken reall really easy.. We need to step it up again act as if he is down 5000.
And Komi does not get in if Gonchar wins. If Gonchar gets voted in the NHL picks the replacement its not the next amount of votes.
Remember that each team must have 1 rep with Kovalev and Markov already in chances are that Price or Komi will not be selected by the NHL.
If you want Komi and Price in the only way to do it is vote them in.

QUOTE (samtskins @ Jan 1 2009, 06:28 PM)

LOL, you guys are the only fans in the league who even care about the joke that is the NHL All-Star Game.
You should be ashamed at being so desperate to put your 20 point players over players with 50 like Alexander Ovechkin.
Fan voting should be banned in all sports. Vote for who deserves it, not you're subpar players.
The starting forwards should be Crosby-Malkin-Ovechkin, end of story. But it doesn't matter, except to Canadiens fans LOL.
Why should we bother voting then. In my opinion Ovechkin is going to be in anyways. Same with Thomas, same with all the others. So why not vote for people who we want in that won't get chosen. If we vote for the 6 most deserving players every year then you might as well take the voting out. Canadiens got ripped off last year when we were first place and only one player was taken, Markov. So this year were taking things into our own hands. Making sure at least 2 players is there.
I will agree with you that voting should be taken out but until it is taken out. I will always vote for the Canadiens and a few other players I like. You want the most deserving players to start then stop waiting for the fans to vote them in and just take voting away. Have them vote for something else. Maybe vote for the events at the Skills competition.

good points, i'm a bit of a cynic as well, and i noticed at the bottom of the leaders page, (point totals) just below the "vote again" button,
it says " the results shown on this page are not official. the NHL reserves the right to update this page from time to time in order to ensure that votes comply with
the official rules and FAQ's"...
so maybe they'll "adjust" things if they don't like the way it's playing out. and i totally agree innis, that some sort of "abnormality" will rear it's ugly head before, or shortly after nine pm !!!!!

Yup, may as well keep voting, but my guess is the NHL wants Price (he's a good, fun guy, good for the game, his team is hosting) ahead of Fleury, and while Komisarek might not 'deserve' to start, Gonchar, who hasn't even skated yet, deserves it even less, and a Gonchar selection would just highlight how silly the balloting is.
So I fully expect the two Habs to get in, whether it is due to all our efforts or not.

the nhl is not going to change the results.
If gonchar beats Komi he simply won't be allowed to go and the NHL will select a replacement and it won't be Komi.
If MAF wins then he will go to the game. The NHL isn't going to cheat for Price Crosby maybe but not Price.
