P.K. Subban? Love watching this guy play with Belleville. I'd prefer to see him play with Hamilton next year.

He is only 18 and will not be eligible for the AHL.

Baines and Manlow have personal contracts with the Bulldogs and owner Michael Andlaeur........not certain if they are year to year or what.......I would imagine both, and especially Baines will return

I can see Baines coming back...looks like ANdlaeur will sign some players himself next year according to the Spec.

Eric Manlow will be back in Hamilton barring any unexpected circumstances, you can chalk that one up, I talked to him the other day.

Conrad Martin - AHL contract
Eric Manlow - UFA
Ajay Baines - UFA
Thomas Beauregard - AHL contract, team option for 08-09
David Desharnais - AHL contract, maybe UFA, number of years signed not know

Does anyone know if David Desharnais is going to Hamilton next year. He was rookie of the year with Cincinnati this year?

The Hamilton Bulldogs exercised their options on the AHL contracts of forwards Thomas Beauregard and David Desharnais for the 2008-2009 season.

Source: http://www.hamiltonbulldogs.com/index.php?...lay&nid=817

It will be interesting how well does in the AHL because as a rookie this year Desharnais was the ECHL Rookie of the Year, ECHL Regular Season MVP and Kelly Cup Playoffs MVP.

I'm just as exicted to see Beauregard play. He apparently had a good training camp last year, and played well during pre-season (2 pts in 2 gp I think).

It'd be awesome if these two actually turned into two top six forwards for Montreal

I think I heard at the end of the Memorial Cup games that P.K. Subban wants to stay with Belleville for another year at least. Probably after the next season he'll go to Hamilton. ONE DAY he'll wear the Tricolor though! biggrin.gif (I hope so).

Latest update from Spectator: Denis will be #1 in Hamilton, Manlow is gone, Baines is still in doubt.

The Montreal Canadiens think they have resolved the Hamilton Bulldogs' goaltending situation by signing NHL veteran Marc Denis.

"We have him projected as our number one goaltender in Hamilton and our two guys in Montreal are pretty well set as Carey Price and Jaroslav Halak," said Bulldogs general manager Julien BriseBois.

"Marc's aware of that. We always make sure we're really straightforward with guys and we're candid and we tell them what to expect even if it means we don't get a player because someone else is blowing some hot air at them."

The Montreal native signed a one-year, two-way contract.

Denis, 30, has played 348 games over 10 seasons in the NHL with Colorado, Columbus and Tampa Bay. But he's coming off a couple of seasons that haven't been up to his standards. He only played 10 games with the Lightning last year with a 1-5 record and a 4.05 goals against average. The 6-foot-1, 193-pounder also played 32 games with Tampa Bay's AHL affiliate in Norfolk posting an 11-17-2 record and a 2.91 goals against average.

"He's at a point, after a couple of seasons that weren't what everyone is used to from him, that he needs to get his game back to get back to the NHL," said BriseBois. "We feel we can help him achieve that and in the meantime he gives us good depth at that position and he's a really good goaltender for Hamilton."

BriseBois said everything he's heard about Denis leads him to believe he will be a good guy to work with the projected number two goaltender in Hamilton, Cedrick Desjardins as well as the Bulldogs other young players.

The Bulldogs general manager also confirmed that they have informed veteran Eric Manlow that they will not have a spot for him in Hamilton this season. He said they're still not sure about captain Ajay Baines who also falls into the veteran category.

"In the case of Ajay we hope to talk to him soon but because of his veteran status we're in a bit of a holding pattern because we need to fill some holes first," said BriseBois. "We have to see how many of those holes are veterans and then see what's left."
